Humble Beginning

I grew up in a world where opportunities didn’t always seem abundant, and dreams were often overshadowed by the challenges of daily life. However, I was fortunate to find support and inspiration in unexpected places. My journey from being an employee to becoming a business owner has been shaped by those early experiences, but it was my exposure to the LEAD curriculum in 2020 that truly set me on a path of personal and professional growth.

Goal

From the beginning, I knew I wanted to make a lasting impact on my community, particularly Black Women Networks. Despite facing obstacles—such as limited resources and a lack of mentorship—I was determined to build something meaningful. I was driven by my passion for helping others understand the importance of financial resilience, particularly through insurance solutions like Life Insurance, Income Protection, and Critical Illness coverage. I knew that by equipping others with the right tools, I could help them create a legacy of wealth for future generations.

Challenge

The road was never easy. I struggled with self-doubt, financial limitations, and the pressures of balancing a full-time job while trying to launch my business. Yet, I never lost sight of my vision. With dedication, I built my skills, expanded my knowledge, and found creative ways to build my business and my network, even in the face of adversity. My commitment to creating Plum Blossom Protects was fueled by a desire to empower others and create a long-term impact.

How LEAD Curriculum Helped Me

The LEAD Curriculum was a game-changer for me. Through their leadership training, mentorship, and guidance, I was able to shift my mindset and develop a clear, focused vision for my business. A pivotal moment came from a lesson that continues to resonate with me: “What my mind can conceive and my heart believes, I will achieve.” This powerful mantra helped me to remain grounded and continue pushing forward, even during the toughest times.

Current Success

Today, I’m proud to be the founder of Plum Blossom Protects, a business dedicated to helping individuals and families, especially Black women, understand the power of insurance and financial protection. From Life Insurance to Business Protection, my mission is to help safeguard household income, improve financial resilience, and support the creation of generational wealth. Thanks to the LEAD Curriculum, I now have the confidence and knowledge to lead with purpose, empowering others to build legacies of their own.
