Humble Beginning

My career journey has been an adventure filled with diverse experiences and challenges. From relocating across three continents in financial services to becoming a Chartered Accountant while raising a toddler, it has been a blend of determination and resilience. Throughout this journey, I faced moments of confidence and success, but also periods of self-doubt and stagnation as I grappled with climbing the career ladder.

Challenge

At one point, I found myself at a crossroads in my career, feeling stuck in middle management and unsure of the next steps. Despite my accomplishments, I struggled with balancing my internal self-perception with how others experienced me as a leader. I needed to reset my mindset and rediscover my leadership potential to move forward.

How LEAD Curriculum Helped:

Enrolling in the LEAD Mindset Curriculum was a transformative step, thanks to encouragement from allies at a mid-tier accounting firm. The program gave me the tools to master the interplay between my internal identity and external perception as a leader. It helped me refine my communication skills through effective storytelling, enabling me to achieve greater influence and buy-in for my ideas. The lessons from LEAD helped me reframe my leadership style and project my authentic self in every environment.

Current Success

After completing the LEAD program, I was promoted to a senior leadership role, which expanded my professional network and personal brand. Today, I am proud to serve as the Head of Internal Audit at an innovative and fast-growing Lloyd’s Managing Agent in the London market insurance sector. In this role, I am empowered to bring my authentic self to the table, build a strong function, and work alongside talented individuals driving the business to new heights. My journey has taught me that hard work is essential, but the most rewarding risk is being unapologetically true to yourself.
