This course outlines the fundamental principles of mentoring with The LEAD Mindset to develop the quality of excellence in the next generation of leaders
It is a necessary pre-requisite to being a mentor on our Student Leadership Module - Example of Excellence. The core purpose of this module is to teach young people the skills and behaviours to pursue excellence over perfection. Excellence is about knowing what you are good at (your offer), and being the very best with your offer in terms of what will be most useful in service to others. The transformation is developing a mindset where you own excellence as your responsibility instead of looking to others to make you excellent. This mindset on excellence puts you in the service space to become and influencer or changemaker in our world.
The transformational learning journey is ‘I am consciously not excellent (I am aware of areas I need to develop to be excellent in my role), I am consciously excellent (I know what I am good at and how to best use it to be of service to others)
By the end of this module participants will be inspired to pursue excellence in whatever their hands find to do as an alternative route to happiness, purpose and a meaningful life.
Participants will have fun exploring:
- what excellence means to them
- apply it in a tangible area of their life
- learn how to use feedback and role models to pursue excellence
- experience the fulfilment that comes from leading themselves to pursue excellence with purpose.
This course takes approximately 12 hours.
